The Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health aims to expand the MCH workforce regionally and nationally, with emphasis on increasing MCH leaders from groups underrepresented in the MCH workforce. It is part of a network of 13 CoEs across the country funded by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).
We offer MCH training for master’s and doctoral students through a certificate program and doctoral training program.
The Center participates in the Georgia MCH Leadership Collaborative, a partnership with Georgia State University’s GaLEND program, Morehouse School of Medicine’s Center for Maternal Health Equity, and the Mercer University Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities.

"What truly inspires me is connecting with those incredible individuals who uplift others, whether it’s through community organizing, coalition building, birth work, creative endeavors, education, or simply by being their authentic selves. Being part of the MCH COE fellowship opened doors that not only boosted my confidence but also ignited my dedication to enhancing reproductive and maternal health care for every birthing person, especially in Black, queer, and other historically marginalized communities.
